I haven't shot many toddler photos because they beyond terrify me. Going into this I was bracing myself for the unknown and instantly I saw that "sit and smile" was NOT going to work. So we played, we played tea party and read books and were just silly. As I got more into the session, each shot I took I would think "if this were Lusi when she is 2, what would I want to remember about this moment in her life?".

I know there are many photos not in focus, kind of shaky and not your "perfect" photo. But to me, this is Bri and this is her crazy perfect life. This is what little 2 year olds do, this is what Bri does. She and all 2 year olds are crazy and then grumpy and then happy again and moving around like crazy!

I had such a hard time deleting any from the session. I'm conflicted about this as that's my job, to pick out the best, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Every photo has such an emotional attachment to it, and she isn't even my kid!

This session made me fall in LOVE with blur, giving photos movement and this vision of these images being distant memories, which some day soon they will be! What do you think?

I LOVED this session. I adore Bri. Thank you Mom for having me out to do these.

  1. Oh my gosh! I adore those. I can't believe how much Brielle looks like Melissa, I've never noticed before now. And her room is so great! These are awesome, I think you really captured the two-year-old life. Very well done!
