Giveaway closes 3pm on the 27th. The winner will be announced later that evening.
2 weeks ago a MUCH needed break came in the form on an invite to a Thanksgiving Point blogger night.
IT WAS FABULOUS!!!!
(I really needed a night away from life and I got it with some inspiring, fabulous women.)
The evening was SO enjoyable, the company, the food, the tours, the christmas lights, everything! It was inspiring, uplifting and gave me the much needed kick in the pants I was looking for! I enjoyed it so much that not even a week later I drove my family as well as my sister and her boyfriend and his son all the way back down (we're an hour away) and used the Year Pass that Thanksgiving Point staff gifted us with at the end of the evening at the blogger night. Thank you Thanksgiving point, you are fabulous!
A few MUSTS when you go to thanksgiving point:
-----You HAVE to try the BUTTERNUT SQUASH SOUP at the Harvest Restaurant. Yes it is in caps, yes it is THAT good. If you don't have time to hit up Harvest, go to the Deli and Ice cream bar. The salads are awesome and right now they have Hot Chocolate Floats, need I say more?
-----The Emporium: oh you Emporium... if I had the money I would buy everything... yes everything in that store. I could live there, I swear. It was crazy to hear from the manager how much thought and work goes into the Christmas displays and products. I was blown away when she told me that they start the work in January... Christmas dominates their year there. It definitely makes sense though, the store is inspiring, its like one huge inspiration board. I NEED everything in that store... especially the grey slate couch.. yes, need.
-----The Museum of Ancient Life: I think we told ourselves we were going for Davis (the 3 year old son of my sister boyfriend) but I'm pretty sure we enjoyed it as much as he did... maybe more. They have so many interactive activities, it's hard to not spend WAY more time then you are planning on there. My favorite is the water/sand building area. We spent the majority of out time there last week, the kids (and the boys... and my sister and I), love it.
-----The Christmas lights: You can drive through Thanksgiving Points great display of Christmas Lights for free and this year they have an amazing evolving ice sculpture created by Andrew Smith. That is a DON'T MISS. It is really cool.
Plenty of more to do at Thanksgiving Point that I am sure we will get around to over the next year:
Movies
I-max Dinosaur Movies
Golfing
The Gardens
Farm
Petting Zoo
and a lot more.
ps: Thanksgiving Point is in the process of finishing up funding for a brand new childrens museum. This museum will be the Museum of Natural Curiosity. I wish I didn't have to wait for this place, it sounds amazing! Think the Gateway Discovery museum X 10.
Thanksgiving point actually gave me 2 family passes.
Why do I need 2? I don't! So Here. You. Go.

ReplyDeleteThanksgiving Point IS great - and we've only skimmed the surface (Gardens, Harvest Restaurant, Animal Country, and walked around the Emporium once). I always tell myself that someday when I'm rich(er), I'm going to get myself enrolled in a bunch of the cooking classes they offer there.
